Our motto, 'Celebrating the full spectrum of human experience,' set the tone for our first and most significant photoshoot at SHH!T HAPPENS. Under the guidance of Mary (@badbabearcade), our skilled Brisbane-based photographer and stylist, we embarked on a mission to challenge stereotypes and enhance the dialogue surrounding disability and chronic illness. This photoshoot wasn't just about capturing images; it was a declaration of our values and an opportunity to spotlight the resilience and diversity within our community.

From the inception of SHH!T HAPPENS, the company has stood firmly on a foundation of authenticity and empowerment. As a venture launched by a woman with a disability, we have consistently emphasised transparency and the integration of lived experiences in everything we undertake—from the development of our products to the narratives we share. This approach has been instrumental in shaping our brand's identity and ensuring that we remain true to inclusivity.

In preparing for our debut photoshoot, it became paramount that we represent our community genuinely. Thus, we made a conscious decision to involve only models and creatives who themselves live with disability and chronic illnesses. It was more than just about representation; it was a commitment to amplifying voices that are often marginalised, allowing their truths and experiences to illuminate every frame. Organising a photoshoot with talent who have both visible and invisible disabilities introduced unique challenges. From ensuring the set was fully accessible to meeting specific health needs, every detail was meticulously orchestrated to foster an environment where each person could thrive without hindrance.
